A must read if you love Britain's canals! Brilliant... loved it as a crime mystery and as a canal lover, authentic and accurately written by a canal enthusiast too. Can't wait for the next one.
Really enjoyed this, a good quick but engaging mystery and and brilliantly descriptive of a small boating community. Looking forward to reading more.

The author

I live in Wiltshire, a beautiful county in the south of England, famed for its chalk and cheese landscape. I’ve had close links to this area for the past forty years, and I was brought up in the nearby city of Bath. I have been crafting stories for as long as I can remember. They remained tucked away unloved and unread, and rightly so, as they were clumsy efforts. More recently, I started trying to understand how to properly construct a story, from outline plot to detailed characterisation. I may have come to storytelling late in life, but I now have decades of mistakes and experiences to draw upon—and the result is Madison Leigh.

The idea for the series of mysteries first came to me while cruising my narrowboat on the Kennet and Avon Canal. I’ve always been fascinated by the intricacies of the ‘whodunnit’, so I set out to develop storylines that provided mystery and intrigue, which a reader may be able to unravel before Madison does—and what better place to set them than against the beautiful backdrop of the English canal network? The Tinderford canal may not exist, but all its beauty, joy, peace, and calm certainly does. Many of the challenges that Madison and her friends experience will be familiar to canal enthusiasts—except, I hope, the murders.
